At FuelMaker, constant innovation has been the driving force behind our international recognition and success. Our strong commitment to Research and Development has given us the opportunity to continuously refine and improve our product offerings to enhance customer value - making our products even more reliable, easier to use, and easier to install and service.

Resources

Today we have 16 engineers, who collectively have over 70 years experience with FuelMaker, working on alternative energy refueling systems. In 2000, American Honda Motor Corporation partnered with FuelMaker for the development of the HRA (Home Refueling Appliance). We have also received government funding in the amount of $3 million from Technology Partnerships Canada and $1.25 million from the US Department of Energy, California Air Resources Board (CARB), and South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) to aid the research.

On site testing facilities

FuelMaker ensures product quality with extensive testing. Our facility is equipped with:

  • 4 test cells for tribology and endurance testing
  • Climate chamber capable of operation from -40°C to +50°C
  • Software and electronics development systems
  • Test & development equipment (flow, voltage, humidity, power analyzers)

Research Direction

FuelMaker is expanding its VRA appliance technologies. At the forefront of that research is the HRA, a mass-produced, inexpensive natural gas or hydrogen home refueler, and fueling systems for the hydrogen/fuel cell market.

We are also applying our research expertise to the development of new products for the commercial market. By building on our current product line, commercial CNG users will benefit from the development of the AFF (Advanced Fast-Fill) system.

Our goal is to provide completely integrated fueling systems by developing products that incorporate conversion of natural gas and water to hydrogen via reforming and electrolysis. FuelMaker is also exploring applications for other gases such as carbon dioxide and nitrogen.
