Building on our present technology, we will modify our hydrogen VRA to integrate the production of hydrogen either through electrolysis or natural gas reforming.
We are also active in the stationary power market, where fuel cell based power systems are being developed to generate electricity. These systems can supply the electrical power for residences or small businesses in areas where power is expensive or in remote areas where power is not available. Using natural gas as the fuel source, a reformer converts the natural gas to hydrogen for the fuel cell. The conversion is exothermic and generates heat for home heating, cooling, or hot water heating. |
We are developing high efficiency natural gas feed systems for reformer/fuel cell based generating systems. The reformer system can use the pressure supplied by the FuelMaker System plus its own membrane or adsorption system to purify the hydrogen generated in the reformer.
FuelMaker systems have often been used to compress and store natural gas as a back-up for stand-by and emergency generating systems. They are now also being used as a back-up for fuel cell power systems. A few years ago, we delivered several VRAs and a storage system to Ontario Hydro to back up to the fuel supply to a phosphoric acid fuel cell. |
